Multi million pound BP contract win for CIS

Tuesday, Jan 15, 2013

Craig International Supplies, a division of global shipping and energy services firm Craig Group, has secured a new contract with BP with an estimated annual spend of almost £13 million for the next three years.

The oilfield procurement company, which operates globally, has been awarded the contract, to provide non critical services to BP’s bases around the UK. The £12.8 million annual deal has also resulted in the creation of several new jobs at the CIS’s Aberdeen headquarters.

Jill Macdonald, joint managing director of CIS, said: “This has been a significant win for us. Securing new business with high profile international oil and gas organisations has been a key part of our growth strategy, which we will carry through into 2013.

“The contract also highlights our exceptional customer service and that our offering is first class whether it is a service or a product we are delivering, attracting key players in the industry.”

This is the first time CIS has worked with BP in the UK and the deal reinforces the company’s position as the largest privately-owned European procurement house operating in the oil and gas industry.

CIS has a £40 million turnover and provides an extensive range of products and services to the global energy industry and has a buying power approaching £4 million per month – an increase of 25% since 2011.  As a result it passes on significant savings to its services and products customers, creating competitive advantage.

With bases in Aberdeen, Cape Town and Houston the company is well placed to provide complete global coverage to an international client base.
