PM announces USD 14.6 m (Rs 740 M) gas project for Rojhan, Rajanpur

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani here Monday announced the mega Sui gas project for the cities of Rojhan and Rajanpur ensuing an expenditure of USD 14.6 m (Rs. 740 million). Talking to journalists at the residence of late Sardar Shaukat Hussain Mazari, the former deputy speaker Punjab Assembly and an MPA, he said that PPP government was committed to providing basic amenities of life even to the remote areas like Rojhan.
He said a sum of USD 9.7 m (Rs. 500 million) would be spent on the Rojhan-Rajanpur gas supply project while an amount of USD 4.7 m (Rs. 240 million) would be required to execute Kashmor-Rojhan section. The Prime Minister said the government had already remitted water rate and other government dues of farmers in Rajanpur district that had been affected by torrential rains during the recent monsoon season. On the occasion, the Prime Minister announced to establish a cardiology and kidney centre in the name of late Sardar Shaukat Hussain Mazari at Rojhan. He paid glowing tribute to late Shaukat Mazari for his valuable services for the country, for democracy and for PPP. He sympathised with the bereaved family and prayed to Allah Almighty for the grant of high grades in heaven for the deceased leader.
