LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa., Feb. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Air Products (NYSE: APD) today announced that it will provide its nitrogen recovery unit (NRU) and cryogenic gas processing equipment for an ExxonMobil project in Hawkins, Tex. The new NRU plant will be operated by ExxonMobil and will process approximately 140 million standard cubic feet per day of gas. The unit will recover natural gas for pipeline sale and produce nitrogen for re-injection into the reservoir to enable enhanced oil and gas recovery.

Air Products will deliver the NRU plant equipment in late 2010, with operations at Hawkins targeted to commence in late 2011.

“Air Products is very pleased to have been selected by ExxonMobil for this important project. With global energy demand increasing, we believe that our technologies provide solutions for enhanced oil recovery projects. We look forward to further demonstrating the benefits Air Products delivers to the energy industry,” said Tom Mutchler, general manager, Worldwide Equipment for Air Products.

Air Products has been supplying gases and equipment to the enhanced oil recovery industry for nearly 50 years and has extensive experience in both nitrogen rejection and nitrogen injection. The Mexico project was delivered on time and has exceeded the design performance criteria. Air Products also has broad natural gas processing experience through its NRUs, its liquefied natural gas heat exchanger business, and helium recovery interests around the world.
