Amec Foster Wheeler joint venture wins U.S. Air Force contract

Amec Foster Wheeler announced today that the Air Force Installation Contracting Agency (AFICA) has awarded its joint venture with Fluor a position on the U.S. Air Force Contract Augmentation Program IV (AFCAP IV) for six years starting 1 October 2015.
As one of eight teams selected for a position on the AFCAP IV indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, the joint venture (known as Fluor-AMEC II, LLC) is now eligible to bid for work up to a value of US$5 billion across the life of the contract period. AFCAP IV task orders are intended to provide base life support services, engineering, and logistics support worldwide to the Air Force and other Department of Defense and U.S. federal agencies.

Established by the U.S. Air Force to fulfill the Department of Defense’s global mission during contingency events, AFCAP provides the Air Force and other government agencies with additional capabilities to rapidly support the logistic requirements of its deployed forces through the use of civilian contractors.
Amec Foster Wheeler has served the U.S. Government in a variety of areas including mission support in Iraq and Afghanistan, military construction around the world, as well as a broad range of services in the areas of environment, energy, facilities, logistics, transportation, and contingency operations sites
