The Integrated Drilling Ocean Program (IODP) through its European operator has awarded Bluestone Offshore with a contract for a scientific drilling project at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
The expedition is part of an international program where a team of 25 worldwide scientists and researchers from institutions and universities will be onboard Bluestone Offshore’s drilling vessel, the Maya, to document and study climate change-related effects on the Great Barrier Reef area.
The project includes coring, sampling, logging and testing in 38 locations with water depths from 30m to 200m.
